Vaping has rapidly evolved over the past 15 years from an obscure hobby to a full-fledged subculture, complete with regular conventions and expos where vapers gather to show off their elaborate modified e-cigarettes, shop for vaping accessories, and swap tips and tricks for mixing custom e-liquid blends. Whether you’re a vaping veteran or just starting out, you won’t want to miss these vaping events taking place all over the country this summer.
1. Arizona Vape Expo
The Arizona Vape Expo will take place on May 2 and 3 at the Tucson Expo Center in Tucson, Ariz. Here you’ll find the biggest selection of e-cigs, e-liquids, and vaping accessories on the American market. Browse merchandise from sellers of all sizes — wholesalers, direct manufacturers, distributers, chain merchandise stores, family-run small businesses, and vaping lounges from around the country will send representatives here. Top e-liquid brands will compete for the title of Arizona Vape Expo Flavor of the Year. Sign up for the Desert Haze Cloud Competition and try to blow the biggest cloud of water vapor.
2. World Vapor Expo Electronic Cigarette Show
Taking place on May 29, 30, and 31 at the Miami Beach Convention Center, the World Vapor Expo brings together vaping enthusiasts, vendors, wholesalers, distributors, and manufacturers. The event is open to the public on Saturday and Sunday; Friday is reserved for business-to-business networking. Free classes will be offered on topics such as battery safety, e-liquid safety, government relations, and how to open your own vaping shop. Speakers will include Dr. Joe Gerstein of Smart Recovery and Nick Molina of International Vapor Group & Vapor Zone.
3. Michigan Vape Expo
The Michigan Vape Expo will be held on June 5 and 6 at the Wyndham Garden in Ann Arbor, Mich. Admission to the event itself is free, and attendees can use a special code to get a discounted rate on a hotel room for the night. The Vape Expo is a fundraising event to help The Vaping Militia fight legislative and regulatory action that threatens to limit the use of e-cigs in many states. The Vaping Militia is an activist group that collaborates with other vaping activist groups to defend and protect vapers’ right to vape.
4. Miami VapeFest Beach Party
Taking place at the Hyatt Regency Miami, the Miami VapeFest Beach Party on Sept. 19 and 20, the Miami Vapefest Beach Party is sponsored by the National Vapers Club. The National Vapers Club works in collaboration with other groups to protect vapers’ rights as lawmakers on the state and federal level consider whether and how to regulate vaping products. While the schedule and vendor’s list for the 2015 Miami VapeFest Beach Party was not yet finalized at the time of this writing, events at the recent Las Vegas VapeFest included VapeFest Karoake, dance parties, and workshops on vaping topics such as beginner’s basics, vaping safety, and vaping rights. Like at other vaping events, you will be able to buy e-cigs, accessories, and e-liquids from dozens of vendors.
5. VCCPA15
VCCPA15 is sponsored by the Vaping Convention Circuit and Azure Vaping. It will take place in Pittsburgh on June 13 and 14, at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. VCCPA15 is free to members of the public. VCC was founded in 2013 with the purpose of educating people about vaping, and particularly about the incredible variety of vaping products available on the market. Renowned attendees at VCCPA15 are expected to include vaping advocacy leader and Smoke Free Radio host Dimitris Agrafiotis. Organizations represented will include the American Vaping Association and the Amerian E-Liquid Manufacturing Standards Association.
If you enjoy vaping, you won’t want to miss these five vaping events, which will offer you an opportunity to examine vaping accessories, e-cigarettes, and e-liquids sold by manufacturers and retailers from around the country. If you’re new to vaping, attending a vaping event will give you the chance to learn about the basics of vaping etiquette and safe e-cigarette use and modification. If you’re a veteran vaper, you’ll want to show off your mods and examine the mods of others, swap e-liquid blending tips, and maybe catch up with a few old friends. Either way, there’s something for every vaper to enjoy at these vaping expos and conferences.
