REAL Coconut Water

A gorgeous day by the Caribbean sea…

Have you ever vacationed in the Caribbean? When you think of the Caribbean, what usually pops into your head? Images of white sand beaches with crystal clear turquoise waters, the cold sweetness of a pina colada, and the scent of sunscreen?  Or maybe you think of everyone’s favorite pirate, Captain Jack Sparrow

And you wouldn’t be wrong to imagine these things – nearly every tourist who has visited the Caribbean has had a similar experience (generally without pirates…) I’ll be the first to admit (while I grip my hot mug of tea in freezing New York City) that a beach sounds pretty amazing right now.

But have you ever wondered what it’s like to have been born and raised in the Caribbean? Sounds fabulous right – to have the beach at your doorstep, coconuts and mangoes in your backyard, and a tan that doesn’t fade…

Tan mom has recovered since this photo…

Anyways! In my upcoming blog series I will share interviews with people who I’ve met throughout my travels that live in or were raised in the Caribbean. You can expect to hear their stories, their hardships, and what they love most about growing up there.

…you’ll also get great inside tips on local favorites to help you plan an exciting vacation, free of expensive tourist traps!

Check back soon for the first interview! Or enter your e-mail in the subscription box to the right and you’ll be notified as soon as each interview is posted 🙂
