Africa offers so many unique and wonderful opportunities when it comes to having the adventure of a lifetime. A continent as diverse and fascinating as Africa is one that is bound to hold so many secrets and opportunities within itself. It’s no secret that over 30 million tourists visit Africa every year, and you should make sure you are one of those. Here are five reasons why you need to look at visiting Africa in 2019 and having the experience of your life.

1. Go on safari

There are loads of great reasons why you should be considering a visit to Africa, and one of the best things you can do here is go on safari. An African safari is a truly life-changing experience, and there are so many places on the continent you could choose to go. It could be a big game drive in Kruger National Park or a journey through the majestic Karoo Desert. You might even choose to check out the sprawling plains of the Serengeti or take a bush trek in the forests of Uganda. Whatever type of safari you want, there is an abundance of choice in Africa.

2. See unique sights

Another of the advantages to visiting Africa is the unique sights you can experience. Some of the most breathtaking places and objects on Earth can be found all across the continent. For example, things like the Great Rift Valley and Table Mountain can be visited. You can also bear witness to the Great Wildebeest Migration across the plains of Tanzania and Kenya. These are just a few of the remarkable opportunities you can make the most of in Africa right now.

3. Make a difference while you travel

When you go travelling it’s important to look at how you can make a difference, and what you can do to improve the way you travel. That means looking at what can be done to embrace ecotourism in a better capacity, as well as making a difference to an area.

Volunteering or helping out with the different cities and towns is very rewarding, and you are giving something back to Africa at the same time. Volunteering a bit of your time and energy can make such a big difference to a culture that it’s well worth doing.

If you don’t have time to volunteer, make a difference by visiting conservation centres or staying in eco-friendly accommodation. There are plenty of opportunities to make a difference while you travel around Africa.

4. Vibrant cities

Africa is full of interesting and unique countries, and even more unique and vibrant cities. These are places you need to explore and really make the most of as much as you can – they will help to properly define your African adventure.

For example, Cape Town is a city with a delightful food scene, and you should head over to Test Kitchen on the Western Cape for some of the culinary delights of SA. This is just one example of how much a city in Africa has to offer tourists, but you won’t truly understand how incredible the cities are until you’ve been to one!

5. Climbing excursions

There are plenty of wonderful hiking and trekking trails all across the African continent, but, there are also two stunning peaks to tackle as well. Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest peak in Africa, at 5,895 metres above sea level, and is definitely a challenge you should take on if you want a battle against nature.

There’s also Mount Kenya, the second-largest mountain on the continent if you feel Kili is perhaps a little too much for you. These are two of the most breathtaking peaks on Earth, and places you need to check out as soon as you possibly can.

These are just some of best reasons why you need to consider a visit to Africa in 2019. There are so many wonderful countries here that need to be discovered, and you will be surrounded by some truly incredible wildlife and landscapes. The food is stunning, the people are friendly, and the cultural heritage is so important.
