Three Funny Travel Blogs to Give You Your Fun Fix

By now, we all know that any trip can be filled with so many laughs and awkward moments, and these funny encounters with locals or wrong turns can be what truly make a vacation unique and exciting. These funny moments come when we least expect them, and if we can recognize them, they can truly make for unforgettable stories. Fleeting Life is currently in the process of putting together a collection of all things funny, but in the meantime, we’re giving you some suggestions for the funniest travel blogs out there.

With so many people traveling nowadays, we’re seeing more blogs emerge than ever before. Back in 2012, Forbes reported that young people were already traveling so much that they brought $217 billion of the $1.088 trillion global tourism revenue.

People are now traveling so much that London’s Heathrow Airport has had trouble keeping up. Information posted by Parking4less shows that Heathrow already has everything from dedicated hotels to its own bus terminals, yet just last month, The Guardian ran a story saying that Heathrow was already operating at full capacity, which meant many travelers were going through other airports instead.

Of course, some of our funniest moments happen in airports, too. Just a few days ago, the very same airport saw a flight returning because of a case of “smelly poo”, and while we can all laugh about it now, we’re sure it wasn’t so funny for the people stuck on that flight! The increased number of travelers just means there are more funny experiences to be had. If you’re looking for a quick funny fix, try the following:

Unbrave Girl

We were all scaredy cats at one point, refusing to leave the comforts of our home to travel the great unknown, and it’s in that way that we can learn from Sally of Unbrave Girl. She writes about everything from “Advice You Shouldn’t Follow” to “Odd Jobs and Other Stuff I Do For Money”. It’s all written in a refreshing, open voice that makes her posts so accessible too.

Bacon Is Magic

Who doesn’t love bacon? Dave and Ayngelina of Bacon Is Magic share a fascinating love story that all started when Ayngelina “walked away from love” to start travelling. Now they’re sharing advice that ranges from how to prepare food with sporting equipment to how to deal with the things we all hate about traveling.

Fevered Mutterings

Mike Sowden of Fevered Mutterings was an archaeology student who decided to pursue his love for writing, and this love is apparent in the work he posts on his blog. It’s not all strictly travel-related, but he’s a rather prolific travel writer as well. His wit is astounding, but also in a self-deprecating sort of way.
