Things to do in Dublin

I’d be lying if I claimed to have learned everything about Ireland in the short time I spent there. There are so many things to do in Dublin itself!

I was only there for two weeks and I’m pretty sure I could spend years exploring Ireland and still be fascinated by it. The music, the dance, the scenery, the beer, and most of all, the people make Ireland more magical than I ever dreamed it could be.

I had heard about ‘Irish hospitality’ and honestly didn’t have high expectations – plenty of countries boast about their friendly locals. But I was thoroughly blown away by the genuine kindness, curiosity and sense of humor that I was met with in most of my encounters with the Irish.

Three days in Dublin isn’t quite enough, but I’d say it’s sufficient. Two days could even be enough if you’re short on time! Here are some of my favorite shots to give you some ideas of things to do in Dublin:

Dublin Ireland

Trinity College DublinTrinity Library and the Book of Kells is a must see!

Moon

Davy Byrnes DublinDavy Byrnes is a great gastro pub- I recommend ordering a daily special for something unique and authentically Irish.

Bewley’s Cafe and theater. The Tiramisu Latte makes for a perfect indulgent dessert and pick-me-up.

Private tasting room in the Guinness Storehouse. Those mini Guinnesses were gone in a flash!

My Airbnb stay in Dublin was perfect. Professional & clean with a fantastic location at a reasonable price.

I also highly recommend checking out The Church Cafe & Bar. Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures to include, but the Irish music and dancing I saw there was incredible and is one of my favorite things to do in Dublin. Make sure to contact them a few days ahead so you know what events might be going on that night.

And if you’re looking for super cheap accommodation, The Generator Hostel has a nice vibe and lovely lounge area, but the Wi-Fi was incredibly slow so it was difficult to get work done, thus I can only recommend it if you don’t plan on using Wi-Fi.

Much of my time in Dublin was spent at a travel blogger’s conference known as TBEX, so I have significantly fewer photos from my time in the city than I do from the rest of Ireland.

Keep your eyes open for many upcoming posts from the rest of my trip!
